Established in 2013 to ensure the South Bay High School Surf league would continue to thrive, the SBSSA is comprised of judges and directors that were former or are still competitve surfers. The SBSSA works with 12 South Bay high school surf teams to produce a 6 month season of both head to head team surf contests and individual surf contests for each team. It is the goal of the SBSSA and Competitive Surfing LLC that every contest is managed in the most professional manner, and that every competitor has the best experience possible in the water and on the beach. We believe high school surfers should have the same opportunities to compete and be recognized for their abilities as every other high school athlete.
